Master Blues Musician Scott Ainslie at N.C. Museum of History

Catch a free performance by master blues musician Scott Ainslie on Sunday, June 14, at 3 p.m. at the N.C. Museum of History in Raleigh. With his fiery guitar picking and slide work and a voice filled with power, Ainslie honors the African and American roots of the blues tradition. PineCone
co-sponsors the program, part of the museum’s Music of the Carolinas series.

Ainslie’s music is distinguishable by his deep blues voice and his picking and slide work on a 1931 National steel guitar. In 2000 at the National Slide Guitar Festival, he received the Living Heritage Award for his contributions to slide and acoustic blues. Ainslie wrote the best-selling book Robert Johnson: At the Crossroads, and he has released four CDs.
