N.C. Transportation Museum Celebrates Halloween with the Pumpkin Patch Express

SPENCER – The N.C. Transportation Museum offers a great event for kids and parents, celebrating the spookiest of holidays.

The Pumpkin Patch Express and Pumpkin Patch Fair is a Halloween tradition at the N.C. Transportation Museum. Kids can dress in their Halloween costumes for a train ride and special activities at the Bob Julian Roundhouse. The event is Halloween Day, Oct. 31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Pumpkin Patch Express is a special Halloween themed train with friendly ghosts and witches. The train rolls out at 11 a.m., 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Kids will receive treats as the train makes its way to the museum’s Bob Julian Roundhouse. Train rides are $7. Museum members can purchase discounted tickets.

In the Roundhouse, kids and parents will find the Pumpkin Patch Fair. Halloween goodies and coloring will be available, along with a miniature haunted house full of skeletons, witches and ghosts. It is just spooky fun, however, appropriate for children of all ages. Everyone can also enjoy a costume contest aboard the N.C. Transportation Museum turntable. Take a spin while kids compete for a special prize for the best Halloween costume.

Finally, pumpkin painting will allow kids to create a great addition to your Halloween decorations at home. Pumpkins can be funny, scary, or just kooky. Pumpkin painting is $2 for museum members and $3 for non-members and includes a pumpkin you can take home.

Enjoy a Halloween event that is safe and fun for you children at the N.C. Transportation Museum.
